HEAT TREATING

Dissociated Ammonia Atmospheres are used in the following heat treating applications where protective atmospheres are required:

bullet

Bright annealing and brazing of high alloy steels, magnetic steels and rare metals

bullet

Bright tempering of castings

bullet

Sintering of powders

bullet

Nitriding of steels

bullet

Carbonitriding

bullet

Furnace brazing

bullet

As a substitute for pure hydrogen in annealing processes

bullet

Sodium Hydride descaling

bullet

Atomic Hydrogen welding

bullet

Any application where it is absolutely necessary to avoid surface oxidation

bullet

As a substitute for exothermic and endothermic-base atmospheres when a smaller output is acceptable

Advantages of Dissociated Ammonia Atmospheres

bullet

High quality

bullet

High purity

bullet

Nitrogen and Hydrogen can be used for any purpose without further treatment

bullet

Transportation and handling of ammonia cylinders is not difficult

bullet

Ammonia contains no oxygen

bullet

Ammonia liquid and vapor is lighter than water and air

bullet

The Hydrogen and Nitrogen produced by decomposition is cheaper than other methods

Our equipment dlist includes the cylinder manifold, ammonia storage and delivery system, vaporizers, skid packages, controls,  and monitoring equipment.  All of our equipment is ANSI/ASME approved for use in ammonia heat treatment applications.
