R. M. Technologies provides comprehensive safety
training programs for both operating engineers and management personnel. The
course will encompass physical properties of anhydrous ammonia and/or aqua
ammonia, review of material safety data sheet, personal protective equipment,
customer’s storage system, delivery and operating procedures, system
maintenance, regulatory requirements, emergency situations and response. Other
topics of interest can be customized to fit the application.
We further offer 24-hour emergency response and
annual refresher courses. Upon successful completion of the course, client's
personnel will be certified as Hazardous Material Technician and should posses
the necessary tools and knowledge to respond to a hazardous material release.
This training will meet the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. Our program
will incorporate additional technical and operational training on the
customers system, which will further complement your in-house training
program. This additional training provides you with the proper documentation
to meet the training guidelines as set-forth in OSHA’s PSM and EPA’s RMP.
The Hazardous material Technician course is designed for individuals who
respond to releases for the purpose of stopping or mitigating a release.
Unlike the operations level, they generally assume a more aggressive role in
that they are often able to approach the point of a release in order to plug,
patch, or otherwise stop the release of a hazardous material. Hazardous
materials technicians are required to have received at least 24 hours of
training equal to the First Responder – Operations level and have competency
in the established skills.
The
Technician level training program meets OSHA’s HAZWOPER 1910.120(q)
requirements for Emergency Response Training.
OSHA mandates a minimum of 24 hours training time, have competency
in the established skills, complete annual refreshers and pass a basic
physical, a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and Medical Evaluation, per
OSHA’s Respiratory Standard 29 CFR 1910.134.
